Statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Republic of Tajikistan

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan denies the information disseminated by the Reuters news agency about alleged discussions between Tajikistan and the Collective Security Treaty Organization regarding the involvement of Russian military personnel in jointly patrolling the Tajik-Afghan state border.

The Ministry emphasizes that this publication is untrue and that the dissemination of such false information misleads the international audience.

The Republic of Tajikistan is constantly taking a series of necessary measures aimed at strengthening the state border. 

The situation on the state border remains stable and is under the full control of the competent authorities of the Republic of Tajikistan.
